Katie Wedgeworth, RGN, M.Sc.
Katie received her certificate in nursing from the South East Kent School of Nursing, United Kingdom, her BA and Dip HE (Critical Care) from John Moores University, Liverpool, United Kingdom, and her MSc in Nursing Education from University College Dublin, Dublin, Ireland. Her clinical background is Intensive Care Nursing.
In her current position as lecturer at the University College Dublin School of Nursing Midwifery & Health Systems, she is Programme Leader on the MSc Critical Care, Graduate Diploma Nursing Critical Care – Intensive Care and Graduate Diploma Nursing Heart Failure.
She believes that the Careful Nursing Philosophy and Professional Practice Module is particularly suited to critical care nursing. She encourages her students to engage and reflect on how the therapeutic milieu and practice competence and excellence concepts influence how they care for the critically ill patients within their care
